The latest version of "Temptation " series at HK Basel 2022 is a fusion of photographic image to sculpture. This marks Fan Xi's long anticipated return to her artistic root, early years of rigorous training in 3 dimensional representation. She distills types of tropical plant form both in structure and in dimensional quality, which are translated into a series of extremely delicate, though fixed spatial objects. Thus the expression of jungle now opts to immerse the viewer in a series of quiet contemplative sculptural experiences rather than a singular sensory impact to overwhelm.
