L narrates the story of a young man, who endeavour to build a hut above the sea, eventually in vain. The scene takes place on the island of Pulau Dinawan, Malaysia; the young man called L is not merely one individual, but an ensemble of four individuals’ daily experiences. The four lead different, independent life trajectories, and are like most, spending their days in fixed, predetermined spaces and times. Simply repeating, the regularity however may sometimes be breached on its own. In the simple repetitions, in the Quixotic or Sisyphean everyday practise, the only thing that could be identified and confirmed is one’s slight contact with life.
